High School Artists Featured at 2017 NFCC Art Festival
Suwannee High School wins first place; Branford High wins second place overall
MADISON, FL – North Florida Community College’s 2017 High School Art Festival brought talented high school students to the NFCC campus for a day of art and competition. Area ninth through 12th grade students showed off a wide-variety of talent and artwork in the annual high school art show and competition - competing for awards in drawing, fiber art, pottery, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and digital art.
"It is always exciting to listen to the students as we return from the NFCC Art Show; they discuss the art that they liked best, how they would judge, and what they hope to do for next year,” said Branford High School art instructor Vaster Fryar. “The show is an inspiration to the students and the teachers; we enjoy seeing each others work."
Suwannee High School took first-place overall in the competition with Branford High School winning second-place overall. Over 200 individual awards were given in the various categories honoring 1st, 2nd 3rd and honorable mentions. Twelve Merit Award winners were also selected from all entries.
