NFC Receives $40,000 from Community Foundation of Sarasota County’s Edward K. Roberts Fund
MADISON, FL - North Florida College has been awarded $40,000 from the Edward K. Roberts Community College Fund of the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, helping multiple NFC students with tuition and living expenses this summer and fall through the Edward K. Roberts Scholarship account.
For almost 40 years, the Community Foundation of Sarasota County has matched donors to the right causes, creating lasting impact. This is the ninth consecutive year that NFC was awarded funding to assist North Florida students.
Edward K. Roberts Scholarships are awarded to part-time NFC students who may not qualify for other financial aid. Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, books and specified living expenses. Students applying for the Edward K. Roberts Scholarship must have graduated high school or earned a GED with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
From 2011-2019, the Edward K. Roberts Scholarship has granted 368 NFC students financial assistance. The NFC Foundation is grateful to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and recognizes Mr. Edward K. Roberts for the role each has played in positively impacting the lives of so many NFC students.
