NFC Foundation Receives $5000 from Koch Industries to Support Taylor County Scholarships

MADISON, FL (March 29, 2021) - Koch Industries, the parent company of Georgia-Pacific’s Foley Cellulose mill in Perry, has donated $5,000 to the North Florida College Foundation. The donation is specifically designated to assist Taylor County students and continues Foley Cellulose’s long history of supporting its community, local students and North Florida College scholarships.

Georgia-Pacific Foley Cellulose Public Affairs Manager Scott Mixon presented the $5,000 donation to NFC Director of Resource Development Judy Lundell, Taylor County Superintendent of Schools Danny Glover Jr. and Taylor County Education Foundation Executive Director Kiki Puhl on March 29 in Perry.

“It is a pleasure to serve on the North Florida College Foundation Board, a team and staff dedicated to providing continuing education opportunities for our Taylor County students that will prepare them for their future," said Mixon. "On behalf of Georgia-Pacific, I would like to express our appreciation to Kiki Puhl, Danny Glover and their staff for their tireless effort on behalf of our students in Taylor County.”

The generosity of donors like Koch Industries directly helps Taylor County students further their education. Since the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year, the NFC Foundation has awarded 45 scholarships to Taylor County Students with a total of more than $22,320 to cover tuition, books and fees.
